Exactly one month ago we reached out to you to ask you to join us in supporting the Texas House Democrats who bravely put their lives on hold to stop radical Republicans from enacting voter suppression laws.

Now in an all-out attack on these heroic defenders of democracy, Texas Governor Greg Abbott is calling for a second special session where he plans to attack the right to vote.

Just earlier this week, the Texas Supreme Court overturned a lower court ruling, paving the way for Democrats that do not show up for the special session to be detained by law enforcement and brought back to the state Capitol.

Following that decision, the Texas House Speaker, a Republican, signed 52 arrest warrants against the Democrats who are doing everything they can to protect the right to vote.

We need an overwhelming number of DFA members to raise their voice in support of the Texas Democrats who are holding firm and continuing to break quorum in defense of our voting rights. 

Stand with Texas Democrats as they both fight against Republican attacks on our right to vote and urge Congress to pass the For the People Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Act.
