Help Ban Torture Devices at Rodeos L.A. Residents: Take Action to Support the Municipal Rodeo Ordinance | |
Dear John, Earlier this year, the Los Angeles City Council voted unanimously in favor of a Motion, brought forward by CouncilMember Bob Blumenfield, to ban the use of "inhumane implements" (such as electric prods, spurs, and flank straps) that force animals to perform in rodeos. The Motion is now with the L.A. City Attorney's office to draft the Ordinance. If enacted, this historic Ordinance would essentially stop rodeos events from happening in L.A. Unfortunately, the rodeo industry has launched a national campaign to oppose the Ordinance. To ensure the Ordinance continues to move forward, the City Council needs to hear from YOU in support of the Motion. Use the link below to comment on the City Council Rodeo File.
