John,

The United States is supposed to be a beacon for the tired, poor, and huddled masses around the world. This includes the millions of international refugees, fleeing from war and persecution. And as one of the wealthiest countries in the world, we have the resources it takes to protect these refugees.

But for the first time in three decades, the United States has lost its place as the international leader in refugee resettlement. That's why we need the GRACE (Guaranteed Refugee Admissions Ceiling Enhancement) Act, which would increase the number of refugees the United States would accept by setting a floor of 95,000 refugee admissions annually.

If you agree that the U.S. should do its part to protect refugees, click here to sign on to this needed bill as a citizen co-sponsor!

Clarkston has welcomed thousands of refugees over the last 40 years. I see every day how immigrants and refugees make our community a better place. Refugees make our communities safer, our economies more prosperous, and our cultures richer.

John, I can say confidently that the Trump administration's reduction of refugee acceptance is a moral disaster for our country. Accepting these displaced refugees fleeing horrible conditions is simply the right thing to do.

Let's welcome more refugees to our country and restore America's place as a global leader in refugee resettlement. Sign on NOW!

In solidarity,

-- Ted
