BREAKING: We just learned that Rand Paul invested in Gilead, the drug company that makes the coronavirus treatment Remdesivir, way back in February 2020 — after his Senate committee received a private briefing on COVID, but before the public knew how bad the pandemic would get. Days after that, he cast the only vote in the Senate against an emergency spending bill to combat the emerging outbreak.
For over a year, Rand has been spewing lies diminishing the severity of this pandemic and endangering public health, while he stands to make a profit on us getting sick. We need accountability.

Rand’s fellow U.S. Senators Kelly Loeffler, David Perdue, and Richard Burr also purchased stocks through alleged insider trading before COVID-19 hit. They were all placed under investigation. But Rand violated the STOCK Act and waited 16 months to disclose his stock purchases while he knew his colleagues were being investigated for insider trading.
Today, Rand is the face of the anti-vaccination movement in the Senate, spreading dangerous lies and disinformation about COVID-19. He wants to ban mask mandates, defund schools that try to keep our children safe, and gut social programs that are keeping working families afloat. He doesn’t care whether we live or die. He doesn’t care if our families are struggling, as long as he stands to benefit. It’s a disgrace.
