New figures show most patients in hospital with Covid in England continue to be unvaccinated so it?s great to hear that our 16 and 17-year-olds can now get their vaccination. With cases high among young people in Nottingham, it is really important we encourage them to get their jab. ?
Anyone aged 16 or 17 can walk in for their vaccination at selected sites without needing to book an appointment ? city sites offering this service are Forest Recreation and Queen?s Medical Centre.

This week has seen students across the city receive their exam results and I?d like to congratulate them on their success and wish them the very best for the future.
We shouldn?t underestimate the Covid impact on the 2021 cohort, nor for the year group before them who saw their 2020 exams severely affected. Their efforts are all the more impressive for that and we?re so proud of them.
There are some fantastic young people in the city who have shown incredible mental strength and fortitude to study for their exams in these most difficult and unprecedented circumstances.
I?d like to thank pupils in Nottingham, plus their teachers, support staff, parents and carers, for all their hard work and commitment. We wish them the very best with whatever comes next, be it sixth form, college, apprenticeship or employment.

A number of banners have gone up in Bulwell to congratulate returning Olympic hero Emily Campbell who won the silver medal in the 87kg+ event at the Tokyo Games last week.
Her proud local community has been right behind Emily and supporting her success, with the Nottingham Markets team making a donation to her Olympic fund in 2019. The money, which came from stallholder contributions, helped with travel and accommodation costs.
This year we had representation at the Games from a number of competitors from the city and we?re incredibly proud of all of them. However, we wanted to acknowledge Emily?s remarkable achievement of becoming the first female weightlifting medallist in British Olympic history. That?s a huge thing for her personally and for her sport.
We know how much Bulwell means to Emily, and, clearly, how much she means to her community. Putting up the banners around the market and outside the Riverside is only a small gesture but we wanted to mark her success. She is an inspiration to young people ? both here in Nottingham and further afield ? and is the embodiment of just what can be achieved in life with talent, commitment, focus and hard work. We?re so proud of her.
