Dear John,
Spirited and Lively! Community and Connections! Ms. on Martha’s 7 was a joyful gathering of passionate feminists eager to learn about the Ms. Foundation’s recent successes!
To all who joined us at the Grange Hall, thank you for adding your passion and energy! It was lovely to see you and nearly 100 others--grantee partners, supporters, donors, and friends--after a year of separation. While many guests had been at previous gatherings, including a handful who had attended all the Ms. on Martha’s events, it was especially delightful to have more than 35 first-time attendees with us.
The high-energy socializing and free-flowing fireside chat between President and CEO Teresa C. Younger and Chief Advancement Officer Ruth McFarlane started with Teresa’s revelations about how the Ms. Foundation has expanded and changed in the seven years since she joined the team. She highlighted decisions, such as the strategic centering of women and girls of color in our grantmaking.
Their conversation focused on our groundbreaking research report, “Pocket Change” and how that research is being used by organizations across the country to raise awareness of the chronic underfunding of programs supporting women and girls of color, how philanthropy is being educated about the need for bold investments in women and girls of color, and how the Ms. Foundation’s grantmaking and capacity building have expanded to include three new programs: the Activist Collaboration Fund, Ms. South, and the Girls Fund Initiative.
If you were not able to be with us, the Ms. Foundation will return to Martha’s Vineyard in mid-August 2022. We need and want your participation and support. Please consider a gift to help the Ms. Foundation’s achieve gender and racial equity.
Thank you again for all you give and all you do!
