Walking and cycling
Step repair work - Redfield Road/Canal towpath
Repair work will be taking place from Monday 16 August, expected to last for one week. The steps leading from Redfield Road to the canal towpath will be reinstated, a handrail put in, and a ramp for cyclists installed. The steps will be closed while the work takes place, and path users are advised to use the next available junction around 400m further north, toward the city centre.
Where can I cycle?
Fancy getting out on a bike this summer but not sure where to go? The City Council's Portfolio Holder for Transport, Cllr Rosemary Healy, took up cycling this year, and has written this handy blog, including her experiences as a new cyclist, and recommendations for scenic and accessible routes around the city.
