New U.S. Census data shows that economic hardship declined in households with children following the first payments of the expanded Child Tax Credit in July.

96% of Colorado families will benefit from the expanded Child Tax Credit, and Colorado families received an average of $420 in July. They will continue to receive this tax cut through December thanks to Michael’s tireless advocacy spanning six years. So many parents — in Colorado and nationwide — are working multiple jobs but still struggle to afford school supplies, child care, early childhood education, housing, and so much more.
