Early yesterday morning, Ted Cruz and the GOP blocked the For the People Act from coming to the Senate Floor, not even allowing for a debate. With one act, Ted Cruz has attempted to end Democrats' efforts to pass voting rights and democracy reform this year.

If you don’t remember, The For the People Act, which Lucy and House Democrats passed all the way back in March, would protect everyone’s right to vote, reduce the influence of money in politics, and put an end to partisan gerrymandering.

And to top it all off, yesterday, the latest batch of census data was also released. That means Republican legislators in Georgia can now begin attempting to draw gerrymandered maps in an effort to push Lucy and other vulnerable Democrats out of office.
