HUNDREDS of local leaders gathered at the annual 40 Days for Life leader symposium in Houston last weekend for prayer and advanced-level training in preparation for the September 22 - October 31 vigil.

After we opened with an international prayer vigil in front of the Western Hemisphere's largest abortion facility, Abby Johnson shared just how critical 40 Days for Life prayers were to her conversion.

She also introduced a former abortion worker who is now leading a 40 Days for Life campaign in front of her former workplace!

At the event, Columbine shooting survivor Sister Mary Gianna accepted the $4,040 4040 Scholarship to continue her education as a nurse.

We also honored Pittsburgh's Nikki Bruni as the 40 Days for Life leader of the year in front of her fellow leaders. Nikki appealed her city's free speech ban to the Supreme Court, and more than 100 babies have been saved under her leadership.

A powerful and inspiring weekend concluded with a visit to where it all began--Abby Johnson's former Planned Parenthood facility, which now serves as 40 Days for Life's international headquarters and Memorial to the Unborn.
