Show Up for the Climate!
Rally to #SealTheDeal
Thursday, August 19 6:00 pm
Battery Park near Bowling Green
This week the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change released its latest report on global warming. The report is unequivocal: we must cut greenhouse gas emissions rapidly and dramatically beginning right now. And right now Congress is negotiating over what the United States will spend in the coming years to combat the climate crisis and invest in our communities. This moment is a once-in-a-generation chance for the US to address the intersecting crises of global warming, Covid-19, and increasing income and wealth inequality.
Next Thursday on August 19 across the country there will be a National Day of Action organized by the Green New Deal Network. Here in New York City we will join in a city-wide rally to #SealTheDeal on climate, care jobs, and justice. Come!
Join in on August 19 at 6 pm in Battery Park.
Climate champions and progressive Members of Congress will join us on the 19th, urging their colleagues across the country to pass a strong budget reconciliation bill that resists cuts to progressive priorities and goes bold on the kinds of programs we need to move decisively to a renewable energy economy, support families, and promote justice and equity. Let’s show Congress our united grassroots demands for real action.
August 19 at 6 pm in Battery Park will be big! Sign up here to make your voice heard!
