John - It was good to see Republicans and Democrats showing us that bipartisanship is still alive in Washington with the passage of the Senate's version of the infrastructure bill this week.
As it now heads to the U.S. House, I still have concerns about how it will be paid for, but this is a good step forward, working together on something that will have a positive impact on all Americans.
With that said, I was disappointed to see Senate Democrats pass a resolution less than 24 hours later (without a single Republican vote) so they can begin drafting the $3.5 TRILLION spending package that will significantly expand government.
They seem to be tone deaf to America's rising inflation. People are seeing higher prices at the grocery store and many other places. The fact is, bad policy making is largely responsible for causing rising inflation.
John - you know that I have been a fiscal conservative my entire career. Heck, I led the effort to balance America's federal budget and pay down debt while Chairman of the House Budget Committee. What I see now with a runaway national debt, expanded deficit spending and inflation scares me and it should scare you too.
This will kill jobs, result in higher taxes, make things cost more and increase the burden we put on our children and future generations because our leaders failed to make the difficult decisions now.
I'm out there every day raising awareness about these issues and doing what I can to make a positive impact - to restore sanity to Washington. But I need your help to keep up the fight.
The funds we raise go directly into our advocacy efforts and that's why I'm reaching out today to ask you to consider making a donation right now to help. I'm counting on you. I'm so appreciative of all the work you're doing to heal the divisions in our country and fight against these dangerous, job-killing policies.
Thank you!
-John
