John,
Earlier this week, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) issued a report labeling the climate crisis a “code red for humanity."
This should be a wake up call for all of us -- not that we needed it. It is incredibly frustrating to
know our climate crisis is intensifying, yet still see no urgency from Republicans in Washington. And while a “code red for humanity” sounds disheartening, there are concrete steps we can take before it’s too late.
Dozens of good bills have been put forward to transition our economy away from fossil fuels and toward green renewables. Legislation like my Zero-Emission Vehicles Act to tackle greenhouse gas emissions in the transportation sector is on the table. Not to mention bills addressing power generation, building efficiency, and agriculture.
We need to focus on ALL of it, and we need to do it now.
Here’s the truth: if we allow Republicans to retake the House in 2022, we won’t make an inch of progress on the climate crisis. My district is one of the NRCC’s top targets in the coming midterm, but my work is nowhere near finished on climate. I need your support.
Will you consider making a contribution to make sure I can stay in Congress and be a part of the solution to our climate crisis? Too much is at stake to slow down or allow climate science deniers to run the show here in CA-49 and in Washington.

We are running out of time to ensure that our kids and grandkids are able to live without the existential threat posed by the climate crisis. We can’t turn back the clock, but we can take advantage of the time we do have to slow this destruction. That’s why your support -- in this moment -- is so important.
Thanks in advance for chipping in,
Mike
