Hello,

I’m Fred Guttenberg.

On February 14, 2018, a gunman opened fire with a semi-automatic rifle at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, killing 17 people.

Among those 17 people killed was my 14-year-old daughter, Jaime. My son Jesse lives with the scars of having heard the shots that killed his sister. We miss her more than words can describe. We have made it our mission to never let her be forgotten.

Since then, I have dedicated myself to fighting for gun safety in America. I will always work to save as many lives as possible. It’s part of how we honor Jaime’s life.

In New Jersey, Gov. Phil Murphy has one of the strongest records on gun safety in the country. He’s taken the fight directly to the gun lobby to expand background checks, keep guns out of the hands of the wrong people, limit magazine capacities, and much more.

But his Republican opponent in this election wants to unravel all the progress Gov. Murphy has made and weaken New Jersey’s gun safety laws.

At a campaign event at a gun range earlier this summer, Jack Ciattarelli asked for “wiggle room” from his far right base to mislead voters about his extreme record and views on issues like gun safety. Ciattarelli’s running mate Diane Allen recently suggested that she’d consider making it easier for New Jerseyans to carry concealed weapons.

We can’t let Ciattarelli and Allen roll back New Jersey’s strong gun safety laws.

If you agree, add your name next to mine to show your support for Gov. Murphy and his work to keep New Jersey safe >>

Thank you for all you do to move our country forward.
