Dear John,

This week, the Senate made a huge step to transform our transportation and infrastructure by passing the Bipartisan Infrastructure Plan. This plan would make a substantial investment to improve our roads, expand broadband, cut down congestion and create jobs, particularly in North Texas. Yesterday I welcomed Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg to Dallas to highlight our infrastructure needs and to talk about how the plan would help our region.

We first visited DFW Airport to meet with airport, airline and labor leaders, and toured construction sites to see the airport’s efforts to update outdated infrastructure. The airport has made our region a hub for international travel and I was glad to meet with them to learn more about how the Bipartisan Infrastructure Plan will help them invest in the future.

Then we met with representatives from DART, the Dallas Regional Chamber, and the North Dallas Chamber of Commerce at DART’s Mockingbird Station, where we toured construction of the station’s platform extension that will serve the Red and Blue Lines, which is funded in part by a Department of Transportation grant that I helped secure. With the Bipartisan Infrastructure Plan, we’ll be able to work together to cut down on congestion and get folks where they need to go.

Finally, we rode the train and met with Mo Bur, the District Engineer at the Texas Department of Transportation to discuss how new funding will help reduce congestion and invest in highways in North Texas.

I was so glad to host Secretary Buttigieg and introduce him to our local leaders and our transportation officials to see firsthand how the Bipartisan Infrastructure Plan will improve quality of life for so many North Texans. I will keep working in the House to get this important package across the finish line.

As always, my team and I are here to answer your questions and help with any issues you have with federal agencies. If you would like to contact me, please send an email, or call my office at 972-972-7949.

It is an honor to serve North Texas, where I was born and raised.

Sincerely,
