John,
Thanks to your hard work and advocacy, the Senate voted this week to advance a $3.5 trillion investment in our future. But this fight is far from over.
Moderates such as Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) and Joe Manchin (D-WV) have indicated that while they voted yes on the framework of this critical investment, they are uncomfortable with the price tag. And, while they’re demanding that the entire budget be “paid for,” some moderates are pushing back on raising the corporate tax rate from 21% to 28%, even though that’s still lower than before the Trump-GOP tax scam.
Can you write to your senators today urging them to be bold in crafting the detailed legislation to make this plan a reality―and pay for it by ensuring the rich and corporations pay their fair share? Click here to write to your senators now!
WRITE TO YOUR SENATORS
No matter where in the country you live, we’ve got you covered. We’ve provided two separate letters for you to send: One for senators who voted yes and need to know that we support their efforts to lift up working families; the second to senators who voted no, expressing our displeasure, urging them to do better on behalf of our families and communities.
Here’s what we’re fighting for:
-
A permanent continuation of the expanded Child Tax Credit;
-
A pathway to citizenship for qualified immigrants including Dreamers, essential workers, and people fleeing disasters and violence;
-
Paid family and medical leave;
-
A significant reduction in health care costs and expanded coverage for the uninsured;
-
More home care for the aging and people with disabilities, and better pay for home care workers;
-
Tuition-free community college;
-
Universal free pre-K for 3 and 4 year-olds and expanded child care assistance;
-
Vital nutrition and housing investments;
-
Increasing the now below-poverty level benefits for poor people with disabilities;
-
Clean energy initiatives;
-
And much more!
Write to your senators today to fight for the largest investment in our future since the New Deal―and demand it be paid for by making the rich and corporations pay their fair share.
Thank you for fighting for working families, seniors, immigrants, and those with low- or no-incomes.
