John,
We don’t need to read this week’s IPCC report1 to know that climate disasters are here, and they’re only going to get worse.
The good news is, we still have a chance to avoid the worst impacts of climate change and save millions of lives — but only if we demand faster, bolder action to reduce emissions, invest in clean energy, and protect our homes and communities.
Right now, Congress is deciding what will be included in the $3.5 trillion reconciliation bill — which could be our last chance to pass major climate legislation this year. We need to turn up the pressure to make sure that essential climate solutions make it in.
TAKE ACTION
Join us next Tuesday at our Green Gatherings call with Dream Corps staff and fellow community members (Tuesday, August 17th at 7-8 pm ET / 4-5 pm PT) as we take action to demand Congress include common-sense climate solutions in the upcoming reconciliation bill. Come prepared to do some letter-writing, art-building, and more.
In the face of such a frightening future, it can be easy to despair. But no one is in this fight alone. Come join our community as we take action together!
