Dear Friend,
|
Earlier this month, all women caucus members, city
councillors from Summerside and Charlottetown, and the all-woman
UPEISU executive were invited to a luncheon with Premier Dennis
King. |
October has been a busy month for Greens across the Island! We have
had events hosted by the Young Greens and various Electoral District
Associations and Regional Associations, some great work done by the
Office of the Opposition, and the bustling of the federal election. As
many of you know, the Federal Election is taking place on Monday,
October 21st. If you haven't voted yet, be sure to do so on Monday!
You can head to elections.ca if you are not
sure where to go to vote.
This newsletter is meant to update you, a supporter of the
Green Party of PEI, on all things Green. Now that we are all
recovering from the turkey dinners eaten this past weekend, it is the
perfect time to take a break and read some Green news.

In case you've missed it, the Office of the Opposition
has released the following over the past month:
"I was disappointed to discover the Premier did not
provide any concrete direction or list of priorities for the Minister
responsible for Status of Women. This lack of direction may simply be
an oversight on part of government, however, it fully demonstrates
much work still remains to be done to recognize and address the
entrenched inequalities, implicit discriminatory behaviours, and lack
of understanding regarding barriers women continue to face."

the lack of direction provided for the Minister responsible for Status
of Women.
The Office of the Opposition has been hard at work to improve
the lives of Islanders. If you haven't already, be sure to follow them
on Twitter and
Instagram.
