We've been out on the road for the past couple of weeks, hitting the trail from river to river talking to Iowans about what matters most to them.

I've heard so many eye-opening stories -- nurses talking about the lack of resources in hospitals and how it harms their patients, farmers concerned about how climate change will affect their livelihood, and blue-collar workers fed up with an economy that's not working for them.

And the thing is, they can't wait another 6 years for change, John. They don't have time.

We've logged a lot of miles on our trip, from Calhoun County, to Dubuque, to Cedar Falls. And no matter what city or town I'm in, I keep hearing the same concerns -- working folks are being left in the lurch.

The fact is, a lot of our current legislators do not value Iowans who punch a clock and put in a day's work. The propaganda machine is hell-bent on stifling the voices of workers. We need representatives who are going to work for Iowans, not against them.

That's why I'm going to work with anyone who will listen to raise wages, strengthen unions, lower health care costs, invest in our infrastructure and provide millions of good-paying jobs in the process.
