In the weeks since I last wrote to you to ask you to support IJ <[link removed]>, we have made progress toward many of our top institutional priorities—from our fight to end “taxation by citation” to our campaign to ensure that government officials are held accountable when they violate constitutional rights.

A few examples:

- We won a first-round court victory for Sandy Martinez, a working mother who is contesting sky-high fines she was assessed for minor infractions on her own property—including $100,000 for how she parked her car in her own driveway.

- We received word that the Tennessee Supreme Court will hear our case on behalf of two Nashville home-based business owners who challenged the city’s prohibition on working from home after the city shut down their businesses.

- And just last week, we launched the latest salvo in our Project on Immunity and Accountability with two U.S. Supreme Court petitions, including a challenge on behalf of Hamdi Mohamud, a refugee from Somalia who was framed and jailed at 16 by a Minnesota police officer. The reason? To protect a flailing investigation that was, it turned out, built entirely on lies.

Meanwhile, we are preparing for an even more productive fall, with at least a dozen cases scheduled to launch even as we get ready for oral argument at the U.S. Supreme Court on behalf of families seeking a better education for their children.

The financial support of people like you makes possible this work and the life-changing and law-changing results it generates. Your gift now will come at a crucial time for IJ and will earn a dollar-for-dollar match thanks to a matching gift from a longtime donor. Please join us by making a donation <[link removed]> today.
