John,
We are amid an onslaught of extreme antichoice legislation, and we are doubling down on our support of prochoice candidates across the country.
2021 has seen more abortion bans enacted than any other year since Roe v. Wade.
From City Hall to Congress, every elected official must be a prochoice champion, ready to protect our right to healthcare and body autonomy.
Right now, we're focusing on states like Virginia, where the GOP candidate for governor is dodging questions on reproductive freedom, saying that he “can’t fully discuss abortion or risk losing independent Virginia voters” before his election.
And we're focusing on Mississippi, where an abortion ban passed by state lawmakers will be heard by the Supreme Court this fall, likely overturning Roe v. Wade and affecting every person in this country.
This case coming out of Mississippi — Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization — is a perfect example of a state-level ban passed to take a shot at Roe v. Wade. That’s why we will continue to work to elect prochoice champions to act as a firewall at the state and local levels, fighting for reproductive freedom no matter the national legal protections.
John, if you're able, help us plan for the fights ahead with a monthly recurring gift of $10 or more so we can meet our $5,000 mid-month deadline.
Thank you so much for supporting this critical work, we can’t do this without you.
