Rep. Ron Kind announces retirement in boon to GOP's House hopes

Now that my colleague Ron Kind announced his retirement, 2 of the 7 Democrats representing districts that Trump won won’t seek re-election. This makes PA-08 even MORE critical to Democrats if we hope to keep the House.

John, I’ll put it plainly -- I am now one of only 5 Democrats representing one of these districts, meaning that Republicans will try even harder to buy their way into the House majority by flooding these five districts with millions of dark-money dollars.

We have to be ready if we want to keep the House blue and protect the progress we’ve made for Americans. Will you chip in $20 right now to defend the House?

Experts have called this move a “gutting blow” to Democrats’ chances of keeping the House blue. As one of 5 Democrats left to represent a district that also voted for Trump, I need to be on high alert for lies and personal attacks coming from the McCarthy GOP.

I wish my colleague Rep. Kind the best as he ponders what is next for him after serving the people of Wisconsin for over 20 years. I’ve always admired his ability to cut through partisan fights and stand up for what the American people need most.
