Tracey connected with you earlier this week to discuss what’s happening with Alabama UMWA workers (email is below in case you missed it) .
I wanted to echo Tracey’s call to action and urge you to show public support for workers taking part in the Warrior Met Strike. They are in month five of their fight for fair pay, benefits, and treatment. They aren’t slowing down, and it’s on us to help lift up their efforts and put external pressure on the company to do the right thing.
If you support these Alabama workers, join me in making it known publicly. Check out Groundwork’s recent Tweet [[link removed]] and be sure to follow our Twitter page for other breaking news on this topic and others [[link removed]] .
Thanks,
Joe

I’m sure you all heard about the historic labor fight in Alabama a few months ago, where Amazon workers in Bessemer led a national headline-making fight for basic worker rights.
Now, there’s another labor fight on the ground that I want to make sure you know about. Alabama mine workers at Warrior Met Coal have been on strike since April 1. Last week, they took to the streets of New York City to demand better pay and benefits.

More than 1,000 members picketed outside the offices of BlackRock, an investment management corporation and the largest shareholder of Warrior Met Coal. You can learn more about the development of the strike here [[link removed]] and follow real time updates on their Twitter [[link removed]] .
