Hi John,

We have an update for you. This week, in a sweeping bipartisan vote, the Infrastructure and Investment and Jobs Act was passed by the Senate. This news is a welcome and refreshing sign of bipartisan leadership to rebuild our country — but this is just the first step and we have to keep the momentum going.

Now Congress needs to go bold on clean energy. Engage your Senators and urge them to support upcoming climate and clean energy provisions we need going forward.

With this legislation as our foundation we can focus on the additional actions necessary to create jobs, clean up the largest sources of pollution and address environmental injustice.

“The bipartisan bill includes helpful policies including funding for charging stations and orphan well remediation. However, on its own, the bill is just the first step in meeting the climate challenge we face. We look forward to legislative action on bold climate and clean energy provisions, including critical clean energy tax incentives, environmental justice protections and clean electricity and transportation provisions.” — Fred Krupp, President, EDF

The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act is a sign that our leaders support investments that clean up our air, water and climate. As we look to the future, we need Congress to go bold — so we can spur growth in clean energy, expand access to clean transportation and ensure that all benefits help communities who have been most harmed by dangerous pollution.

However, what happens next will determine our clean energy future. Urge Congress to tackle the climate crisis through even bolder investments!

Let’s continue building a better future,
