“Juul Is Fighting to Keep Its E-Cigarettes on the U.S. Market”

Juul is spending whatever it takes to influence the FDA and continue hooking kids on nicotine. We're fighting back, and we need your help now more than ever.

John, this is a big deal: The FDA will decide by September 9 whether to allow Juul to continue selling its nicotine-loaded, kid-addicting products in the United States.

The FDA must stand up to the company that jump-started and fueled the youth e-cigarette epidemic and stop Juul from addicting even more of our kids. But as The New York Times reports, Juul is mounting a massive and deceptive campaign to influence the FDA’s decision.¹

The details are terrifying: Juul is spending millions on lobbying, millions to dodge courtroom testimony from parents and teenagers while the FDA is reviewing their products, and even buying out an academic journal and filling it with self-funded studies to fool the FDA. Backed by part-owner Altria, the largest tobacco company in the U.S., Juul’s pockets – and connections – are very deep.

Juul is spending whatever it takes to influence the FDA so they can keep hooking our kids on nicotine. Please rush in a donation to help us fight back! >>

The Times made a crucial point: Juul’s survival is at stake in this fight, so they are willing to do anything to win. They’re using all the dirty tricks that Big Tobacco has used for decades. We can’t let them succeed.

About 3.6 million U.S. kids use e-cigarettes, and Juul is their number one brand. Now Juul wants the FDA’s greenlight to keep selling the very products that caused this epidemic in the first place – products in kid-friendly menthol flavor and loaded with as much addictive nicotine as a whole pack of cigarettes. The FDA must protect kids by removing Juul and all flavored and high-nicotine e-cigarettes from the market.

Juul may have an obscene amount of money, an army of fancy lawyers and a stable of high-priced lobbyists, but we have something more powerful: this team. You’ve helped us beat Big Tobacco before. And with your help, we can beat Juul’s barrage of misinformation and keep pressure on the FDA to do what’s right!

John, we need your sustaining support now more than ever.

Thank you,

Laurie Rubiner
Executive Vice President, U.S. Programs
