John,

Today, the U.S. Census Bureau is releasing the data needed for states to complete the once-in-a-decade community districting process.

This means the drawing of voting district maps—i.e., the maps that decide which politicians we can vote for—will begin across the country.

The maps drawn this year will impact our communities and our lives for the next decade. We want to encourage as many people as possible to have a voice in this process.

Join CLC and the League of Women Voters on Twitter TODAY from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Eastern to make your voice heard. Share why Fair Maps matter to you and post a selfie with a sheet of paper that shares why you’re raising your voice against gerrymandering. Please post with the hashtag #FairMapsForAll.

CLC is partnering with the League of Women Voters to lead this tweetstorm. We hope to see you on Twitter today!

P.S. Check out how you can hold your local map drawers accountable. On Monday, CLC relaunched PlanScore.org, an empowering online tool that gives voters the ability to measure the partisanship of map proposals.
