John,
As I noted in my email last week, too many people in America lack access to parks within their neighborhood. In fact, more than 100 million people in America … including 28 million kids … do not have a park within walking distance of their homes.
Having a park in your neighborhood should be a right, not a privilege.
That’s why I am once again urging you to make a tax-deductible contribution to support our Community Schoolyards™ projects today, as well as The Trust for Public Land’s many other projects around the nation.
Community Schoolyards projects are a critical part of our mission to create land for people and a major part of our commitment to close the park equity gap in communities across the country. Public school districts own two million acres across the country and provide a major opportunity to create vibrant outdoor spaces for those who lack access to public parks.
We are working to accelerate the creation of parks and open spaces by providing resources, capacity, and financial support in communities where they are needed most. By 2025, our goal is to bring Community Schoolyards to 20 underserved school districts, improving park access for 6 million kids and adults.
To meet this aggressive timeline, we need your support today to reach our most immediate fundraising goal of raising $50,000 by the end of the month to aid the next community that needs our help.
John, will you support this important effort, and our many other projects to create parks across the nation, by making a tax-deductible contribution today?
The Trust for Public Land is a leader in this movement because we’ve created and transformed nearly 300 Community Schoolyards across the country. And with your help today, we will create even more vibrant schoolyard parks across the nation for millions more to enjoy. But to meet our aggressive goals and deadlines, we urgently need your financial support today. Remember … due to the efficiency of our operations, every $1 contributed to The Trust for Public Land creates $3 for parks.
Please help us by making a generous tax-deductible, financial contribution today.
Sincerely,
Kim Elliot
