John, the Washington Post opinion section has the right idea – not just about the crisis of our democracy, but also our best path forward. Check it out:

Last month’s crushing Supreme Court decision destroyed one of our last hopes of overturning far-right GOP voter suppression bills.
The conservative court signaled that they won’t take action to preserve voting rights – regardless of the Constitution, federal law, or morality. With S. 1 dead in the Senate as well, how do we move forward?
Here’s a hint: by electing Democratic, pro-voter Secretaries of State.
“Races for secretary of state — the position of chief election officer in many states — will suddenly become a lot more important... This position is crucial to efforts to corrupt democracy as well as to defending it. ”
We couldn’t agree more, John. We need all hands on deck to fight the far-right, try every angle we can to prevent voter suppression, and ensure our election officials aren’t undermining elections. That all starts with DASS.
In Secretary Griswold’s words: “It’s going to be up to secretaries of state.” But it’s our job to get them into office and hold off the far-right’s dark money fundraising.
We have to strike back before it’s too late. If you support voting rights – if you oppose the MAGA Republicans attacking our democracy – chip in $10 now to stop the far-right! >>> [[link removed]]
