Friend,
After months of negotiations, the Senate passed the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act to provide critical funding to address our nation’s crumbling infrastructure, create good-paying jobs, ensure access to high-speed, reliable broadband, invest in clean energy and much more. The bill includes funding for:
For Connecticut, this means millions of dollars for the Northeast Rail Corridor, protecting the Long Island Sound, coastal and disaster resiliency, bridge replacement and repairs and improving our public transportation.
Passing this bipartisan infrastructure bill was no easy feat, and it will have some challenges in the House. But this is a desperately needed historic investment in our country that goes beyond repairing roads and bridges to invest in a competitive future for all Americans.
The House will take up this bill and other important measures later this month, and I hope to see more Democrats and Republicans set politics aside to better our country. I believe good things can still happen when we work together. - Jim
