Affordable Child Care

Child care is not a luxury, it’s a necessity.

Over the past few weeks, our Liberal government has signed agreements with British Columbia, Manitoba, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, PEI, and Yukon to make $10 a day child care a reality. And in Quebec, we’ve signed an agreement that will create tens of thousands of new child care spaces and support even higher-quality care across the system.

Securing Vaccines for Canadians

Our Liberal government is continuing our work every day to finish the fight against COVID-19.

Canada has received 68 million+ vaccines – enough for every eligible Canadian to receive two doses – and secured enough vaccines for all eligible Canadians to receive boosters if necessary.

We’re also donating nearly 18 million vaccine doses to help finish the fight against COVID-19 across the globe.

Recognizing Canada’s First Official Emancipation Day.

On August 1, we recognized Canada’s first official Emancipation Day. But there is still much more hard work ahead of us, friend. As Bardish Chagger said, together, let’s continue celebrating the achievements of Black Canadians, discussing and reflecting on Canada’s dark history of slavery and abolition, and talking about what more we can do to combat anti-Black racism.

Women’s rights are human rights.
That’s why we’re proudly pro-choice. The right to choose is a woman’s right and a woman’s right alone, and every woman in Canada has a right to a safe and legal abortion.
Justin Trudeau announced two initiatives that will help improve access to sexual and reproductive health care supports, information, services, and research.

Every Canadian deserves a safe and affordable place to call home.
Our Liberal government is taking important steps forward to invest in the Rapid Housing Initiative. Together, we’re tripling our original target from last year to create new affordable homes for vulnerable Canadians and their families. Projects are underway across the country, and just last week Ahmed Hussen announced support to build new affordable housing in Nunavut.

We’re connecting more Canadians to high-speed internet.
Our Liberal team is investing in the Universal Broadband Fund as a part of our commitment to connect more communities and more Canadians to high-speed internet. Good reliable internet is a basic service that every single Canadian deserves. Most recently, our Liberal team has reached important agreements to bring high-speed internet to close to 900 rural communities across Ontario.
