Friend, I wish I could reach out with better news – but what I'm about to say is truly scary, especially for families who have lost loved ones to gun violence like I have: CNN reported that America is on a "gun-buying spree" as weapon purchases surge this year.

As Americans continue to buy military-grade assault weapons that no civilian should be allowed to own, all of our lives are at risk. We know that we MUST ban these weapons of war to prevent the next mass shooting – but the NRA is doing everything in its power to keep these deadly weapons in civilian hands.

As scared and angry as I am that our politicians haven't taken action to protect us, I have hope: Our grassroots movement is stronger than ever before; we finally have gun safety advocates in the White House – and most importantly, a majority of Florida voters (about 60%) believe we need to ban assault weapons now.

But to prevent the next mass shooting, we need your help. Our team is finalizing our strategy, and we need 1,000 of our best supporters – including you – to answer just a couple of questions that will provide us with crucial insight before we meet tomorrow morning.
