Raising the resources to elect and re-elect dozens of Democratic AGs over the next sixteen months is definitely a full-time job
Friend, hello – I’m Levi, the Digital Fundraising Manager at DAGA!
Raising the resources to elect and re-elect dozens of Democratic AGs over the next sixteen months is definitely a full-time job, and today, I want to give you a quick peek at what my day is like.
The first thing I do when I open my eyes around 8AM is to get myself oriented – I fumble for my phone and speed-scroll through newsletters, social media updates, and sports news (go Rockets!). I keep one groggy eye peeled for news about Republican AGs, because whatever one of them is doing – from launching a new attack on our civil rights to defending the Big Lie – they’re probably not alone in it.
Once I’ve crawled out from bed, I pour my morning coffee and dial in to the morning finance team meeting – this is where we take a cold, hard look at our numbers, gauge whether we’re hitting the amounts we need to execute our strategies, and decide whether we need to scale up – or scale back – our plans. (Want to help us keep expanding our efforts? Chip in here.)
After we’ve reviewed our fundraising numbers, the day can take a few different turns. For me, a lot of it involves providing mathematical and visual analysis for the rest of the team so that they can shape their plans accordingly. Since we’re supporting so many AGs, that daily analysis is critical to keeping our programs moving on all fronts. (We don’t play favorites!)
I also help drive storytelling around the constantly moving chessboard that is life for our Dem AGs – especially in battleground states – which sometimes means writing to you directly, as I am today. I also check emails from you and help keep us accountable for the work we’re doing. Somewhere in the middle of all this, I gulp down lunch and help troubleshoot technical issues across our programs.
Once the day is done, I finalize my to-do list for the next morning, close my laptop (I’ve had to work on that) and watch cooking YouTube – I’ve just about mastered a strong bolognese sauce, but my homemade lasagna needs some work. Finally, I call my family back in Houston to check in on them and see how they’re holding up under indicted Republican Texas AG Ken Paxton. (If you have loved ones in a state with a Republican AG, check on them often!)

P.S. We’re committed to electing and reelecting Democratic AGs across the entire country in 2022 – stay tuned for news about our Incumbent Protection Program that we’ll be firing up later this fall.
Democratic AGs truly are “The People’s Lawyers” and DAGA is the only party committee devoted to electing more of them. Since 2016, we’ve won two-thirds of our targeted races, and with more than 30 AG seats up for grabs in the next two years, we need your support – will you chip in today?
