Congress is hurtling towards reauthorizing Section 215 of the PATRIOT Act so the government can continue its warrantless surveillance of Americans. Speak up now!

John,

Congress is about to reauthorize the law that allows the government to spy on Americans without a warrant. If we don’t act now, they’ll renew it by the end of the year.

Tell your member of Congress: shut down Section 215 of the PATRIOT Act.

TAKE ACTION

Section 215 is the part that enables the government to monitor your phone calls, location data, medical records, and financial transactions—all without needing a warrant or any suspicion of wrongdoing. And right now Congress is debating on whether or not to reauthorize it.

The government wants the power to invade our personal lives to manipulate and control us. With warrantless surveillance enabled by law, anyone can be swept up and persecuted because of religion, political beliefs, where they’re from, or who their friends are.

This is urgent. Congress will decide in less than two months whether or not to renew Section 215, and politicians—including Trump and top Democrats—are calling for permanent, indefinite authority to spy on Americans.

That’s why you need to speak up too: tell your member of Congress to vote against the permanent authorization of spying through Section 215.

Thanks for taking action,

Evan at Fight for the Future
