The Democrats' recklessness will destroy our economy

This week has been a multi-trillion-dollar mess in the Democratic-controlled Senate.

I have spent weeks fighting against the radical over-spending bills, but the Senate approved a $1.2 trillion "infrastructure" bill and a $3.5 trillion partisan budget; $4.7 trillion in spending all in 24 hours.

I strongly opposed both bills.

For months, we’ve heard that the "infrastructure" bill would pay for itself. But over the weekend, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office confirmed it would include at least a quarter trillion in new debt. Our country can’t afford that now - and our children and grandchildren certainly can’t afford that bill in the future.

If more spending wasn’t bad enough, when the infrastructure bill was released we discovered a section of the bill included language from the “Equality Act” that redefined “sex.” Another section of the bill set up a new tax plan for tracking vehicles mileage which is a page out of the Green New Deal.

How a bill supposedly about highways and bridges suddenly became a bill about redefining sexual orientation, gender identity, and the Green New Deal is a mystery only the Democrats can solve.

Within an hour after the infrastructure bill passed, Democrats turned to their $3.5 TRILLION tax and new entitlement spending spree. It is loaded with new immigration policies, climate change grants, tax increases, new entitlements, and more.

I did not support either bill. However, I did win several amendments, including MY amendment to the budget resolution to protect children in the womb and stop Chuck Schumer, Bernie Sanders & Nancy Pelosi from using our tax dollars to pay for abortion.

I was able to win the protection of the Hyde Amendment and Weldon amendment to prevent funding abortions with federal tax dollars and protect the rights of people and entities to not perform abortions. It was a big win for the unborn in a long day of opposing so much overspending.

I will keep fighting for you, our children, and our grandchildren.

I am grateful to know that you also oppose the reckless spending by the Democrats that will ruin the future for the born and the unborn in our nation.
