The UN's damning new scientific climate report, released Monday, leaves no room for denial or delay: Human activity is creating devastating changes to our climate in every region of the world.

The UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report foretells a future where some of the worst impacts of the climate crisis are now unavoidable -- just look at the fires in America's west for further proof. And now, every additional degree of warming could bring more unthinkable threats.

New York Times: A Hotter Future Is Certain, Climate Panel Warns. But How Hot Is Up to Us.

It's worth pausing to consider the second part of The Times' headline: "How hot is up to us." You know that I've said for years that this climate crisis is the existential threat of our generation, but it's a mistake to think nothing can be done. The truth is that bold, transformative action remains possible and would avert the worst outcomes.
