It’s been a whirlwind 24 hours in the United States Senate.

Yesterday morning the Senate voted 69-30 to pass the bipartisan Infrastructure and Jobs Act to make historic investments in our nation’s physical infrastructure.

It’s the first significant infrastructure package in decades, and one of President Biden’s top priorities. It will restore our nation’s roads and bridges, expand transit and rail options, improve our clean water infrastructure, advance climate resilience, expand broadband connectivity, and much more.

Then, about 4 am this morning — after a very long night of debate — all fifty Senate Democrats voted in unison to advance our budget package to:

• Expand educational and job opportunities for every American;
• Reduce the costs of prescription drugs, child care, college and more;
• Supercharge our effort to deploy clean energy and tackle climate change;
• Provide tax cuts to middle class families;
• Expand Medicare to include coverage for dental, vision and hearing services;
• And pay for the plan by ending tax breaks for big corporations and ensuring that the very wealthiest contribute more for the success of all.

The budget resolution includes many provisions I have worked to pass for years, including the creation of a Clean Energy Accelerator to drive the innovative solutions we need to transition to a green economy and fight climate change.

I will do everything in my power to make sure these two key proposals to implement our Build Back Better agenda make their way through the rest of the legislative process and over the finish line. Together, they will bring about transformational change needed to achieve our goal: an economy that works for every American, not just the most wealthy. But we're not done and I need you with me.
