Dear Evidence Action Supporter

We’re writing to share some exciting news - earlier this week, Michael Kremer, Esther Duflo, and Abhijit Banerjee were awarded the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences

"for their experimental approach to alleviating global poverty". This recognition is an incredible endorsement of the use of rigorous research methods to understand which interventions work (and which don't) to improve the lives of the poor - the type of evidence that underpins our work here at Evidence Action.

However, this award holds even greater significance for our work, as our founding is deeply tied to the work of the three laureates and the evolution in development that they inspired. In fact, both of our flagship programs are the direct result of the laureates’ work - our Deworm the World Initiative

We’re thrilled to extend our congratulations to the three laureates and hope you’ll join us in celebrating not only their success, but what this award means for the global community dedicated to bringing rigorous evidence to bear on urgent challenges facing the world’s poorest people. This research engendered programs that today are measurably impacting the lives of hundreds of millions of people. This week, we’re especially proud to be part of that community.

Warmly,

Kanika Bahl
