If you haven’t heard, we just found out that we have yet another Republican opponent in the race for California's 8th district: Tim Donnelley.

With Jay Obernolte already in, the Republicans now have two very formidable (and very far-right) candidates in the field. Pretty soon, they’re going to begin jockeying for endorsements, financial support, and competing for the small, but loud far-right voting block in our community.

The point is this: things are likely to get messy. Really messy.

John, I’m going to keep running a campaign on the issues that matter most for our community -- things like access to quality, affordable health care, bringing 21st-century jobs to our communities, and protecting our precious public lands. But the fact is, I’m now competing against TWO Republicans who are ready to do (and spend) whatever it takes to win this race.
