** Drive-Thru Back to School Health Fair
12 p.m. (first come, first serve), Friday, August 13

Join us for our Annual Back to School Health Fair this week! We will be providing backpacks, school supplies and COVID-19 vaccinations on a first come, first serve basis until supplies run out. We will also be providing vouchers for physicals and immunizations during this free drive-thru event.

Children and teenagers must be present to receive a backpack (limited to one per child/teenager) and vouchers for health services.

This event is strictly drive-thru due to COVID-19, and we will not be accepting any walk-up clients. Please call 313-216-2200 with any questions.

COVID-19 Vaccinations
We're offering vaccinations at 6450 Maple St, Dearborn on a walk-in basis. Anyone 12+ is welcome to visit our clinic during regular business hours, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday-Friday (anyone 17 or younger must have a parent/guardian present). Call 313-216-2200 with any questions.

Visit ACCESS Sterling Heights Center for free, supplemental groceries. All are welcome to collect items like ground beef, rice, pasta, canned fruits and vegetables, dried fruit, nuts and oil.

Arab American National Museum (AANM)

Join AANM for a monthly English-Arabic Storytime from the comfort of your home! Children ages 2-6 and their parents are invited to tune in as resident storyteller Sari Mira reads a variety of books in English and Arabic. Songs and activities are sometimes included. Center for Arab American Philanthropy (CAAP)

Rasha Demashkieh, CAAP's advisory board chair, recently spoke with Metromode ([link removed]) about CAAP's eighth annual 100 Arab American Women Who Care ([link removed]) fundraiser.

Rasha also spoke about the impact of strategic giving. "It's amazing what a group of people, if they come together because they have a common goal, can do. As a community, that impact will reflect on your community. The goal is to help people, and at the same time, elevate the voice of the community."

National Network of Arab American Communities (NNAAC)

NNAAC and the Center for Arab American Philanthropy have awarded a combined total of $130,000 to 19 Arab American nonprofit organizations across the U.S. The grants will support Arab American nonprofit organizations, which focus on arts and culture, human services and education and advocacy, in maintaining and expanding their operations.
