The GOP will attack anyone to further their Big Lie, from Secretaries of State down to the poll workers and election officials who keep our whole democratic system running smoothly. The Hill’s Opinion section has the scoop:

The good news is that we can fix this problem. Here are a few steps The Hill recommends to protect our hard-working election officials:

First, encourage local governments to defend their officials by funding election security, protecting personal information, and providing legal representation against partisan lawsuits.

Then, call on congress to finally pass federal legislation protecting voting rights. What we need are common-sense reforms to protect the backbone of our democracy – but Republicans won’t budge an inch on S. 1 or the John Lewis Voting Rights Act!

Most important of all, we need to elect Democratic, pro-voter Secretaries of State to stand up for local officials and fight extremist lies. That’s where you come in.
