John,
The Biden administration extended the eviction moratorium last week, heeding the calls of progressive activists before it was set to expire.
Rep. Cori Bush’s fearless advocacy helped raise awareness for the millions of families that would be displaced if the White House let the eviction moratorium expire. Thanks to the activism of progressive leaders like her demanding action, the extension provided immediate relief for those at risk of losing their homes.
But struggling families need more than temporary solutions.
While people are still struggling to pay rent or out of a job due to COVID, the last thing they should have to worry about is being forced out of their homes. The fight for renters and small landlords did not end with this moratorium extension — it has only been delayed.
That’s why we must pass Rep. Maxine Waters’ bill to prevent evictions through the rest of the year: The Protecting Renters from Evictions Act.
We cannot leave our most vulnerable high and dry — especially not amidst an ongoing pandemic. We should not leave it to state and local governments when Congress can take action right now.
John, I need your help to build up grassroots support in favor of passing Rep. Waters’ bill to prevent mass evictions. Will you sign my petition and support the fight for renters and small landlords? [[link removed]?]

Thank you for speaking out — we are all in this fight together.
