Earlier this week, the UN released a special report on the future of climate change. They painted a very grim picture of the future, with hundreds of millions of people losing access to water and nearly one billion people experiencing more frequent life-threatening heat waves.
But, we have a small window of opportunity to lessen these risks and save the lives of millions. This window won’t be open for long, so we need to act now.
That’s why I’m urging my colleagues in Congress to sign the budget reconciliation bill with the climate provisions. Add your name to join me in calling on Congress to pass this bill to protect our climate.
The proposed reconciliation bill includes the commitment to have 80% of the US’s electricity be generated by clean sources by 2030, clean energy tax incentives, and a polluter import fee and a methane polluter fee. With measures like these in place, we could put a stop to a climate crisis that is increasingly gaining momentum.
When it comes to climate change, we cannot afford to waste any time. If we don’t act now, our world as we know it will never be the same again, and millions of lives will be lost.
Please, John, make your voice heard and help me demand that Congress takes action now.
Thank you,
Carolyn
