Right upon taking office, Mark took a powerful stand for LGBTQ equality by refusing to defend Virginia's then-ban on same-sex marriage. Again and again, he's shown similar courage and continued to successfully advance justice and progress in our state.

Mark's beaten the NRA in court to uphold Virginia gun safety laws. He helped undo a racial gerrymander of Virginia's legislative districts. He advocated for the legalization of marijuana. And Mark was among the Democratic Attorneys General who successfully defended the Affordable Care Act before the Supreme Court this past term.

Mark will continue to do great things for Virginians in a third term. At a time when so many of our democratic institutions are being tested, it's critical that we have legal advocates like him in office to protect people's rights and livelihoods.
