All three members of Colorado’s Republican Congressional delegation are calling on the Supreme Court to undermine the constitutional rights of women in the United States.

This fall, the Supreme Court is scheduled to hear arguments concerning a Mississippi law that bans abortion at 15 weeks of pregnancy, an overt challenge to the 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling which states that abortion cannot be heavily restricted prior to viability.

Colorado Republicans Lauren Boebert (CO-05), Doug Lamborn (CO-05), and Ken Buck (CO-04) signed on in support of an amicus brief submitted on July 29, 2021, asking the Supreme Court to rule in favor of Mississippi and overturn the precedent set in Roe and Planned Parenthood v. Casey, which upheld Roe in 1992.

The move by the three Colorado Republicans is a clear attack against the values we hold near and dear in Colorado. Just last year, Colorado voters rejected their fourth pro-life ballot measure in 12 years. Prop. 115, which was defeated by a healthy margin, would have banned abortion at 22 weeks. Boebert, Lamborn, and Buck clearly haven't gotten the message of their constituents.

Thanks to the hard work of Colorado organizers, Colorado remains a reproductive safe haven for women. Coloradans rightfully believe that reproductive decisions should be made by a patient and their doctor, not by politicians.

Despite clear indications from Colorado voters, the Colorado GOP is still trying to undermine women's rights and the will of voters.

We need to rally against GOP hate - not only to protect our constitutional rights, but also to defend the very fabric of our democracy.
