Yesterday, I and so many other young people woke up enraged. The IPCC had just released a major report on climate that was nothing less than apocalyptic. The bottom line? The future of our planet is not looking good — and unless we act fast, it’s going to get even worse.
We didn’t need a report to tell us that the climate crisis is already here. All we have to do is look out the window. Fires are burning forests the size of entire states. Buildings are collapsing into the sea. Power is getting shut off as hundreds die from heat waves.
I know you might be tempted to give up. I know it might feel like our chances of stopping this crisis are shrinking. But we can’t stop. We just can’t. There’s simply too much at stake.
