** Dear Neighbors,
------------------------------------------------------------
An excessive heat warning is in effect until 8pm this Friday (8/13). The most intense heat will occur during the afternoon and early evening hours.

The NYS Depts of Environmental Conservation and Health have also issued an Air Quality Health Advisory ([link removed]) for the NYC metro area for Wednesday (8/11), from 11am through 11pm.
The pollutant of concern is Ozone.

As temperatures soar, please stay safe and check on any neighbors who might need assistance.
* Seniors and those with chronic health problems or mental health conditions are at increased risk.
* Homes without air conditioning can become much hotter than the outdoors over the course of the day.
* Anyone working outdoors should use great caution -- heat stroke is an emergency! In cases of heat stroke, call 9-1-1.
* For more information and safety tips on avoiding heat illness, visit www.NYC.gov/beattheheat.

NYCHA residents should call (718) 707-7771 or use the MyNYCHAapp ([link removed]) to report heat-related issues in their buildings.
