John, the next generation of Republicans is carrying on Trump’s legacy and they’ve brought the fight to the local level here in Connecticut.
As the Hartford Courant reports, conflict over equity and social justice curriculums in Connecticut schools “is shifting from arguments on Facebook to activism in the political sphere as social conservatives seek to seize control of school boards around the state.”
This summer, Republican activists fueled by right-wing media have secured school board election spots on November’s ballot in towns like Guilford, New Canaan, and Glastonbury — and this is just the beginning.
John, Connecticut Democrats need your help to fight back. Can you donate $20 to ensure that we have the resources to counter far-right Republicans across our state?
These Republicans are part of “a growing national movement that views diversity and inclusion initiatives as divisive and harmful,” according to the Hartford Courant.
The Trump wing of the GOP wants to sweep racism under the rug, and they’re organizing to take over Connecticut’s school boards in November to make that happen.
CT lawmakers declared racism a public health crisis this year, and voted to create a commission on racial equity in public health and to improve data collection on race in health care — together we must continue making progress in the fight against systemic racism.
If you can, please chip in to help Connecticut Democrats protect our majorities in upcoming elections. Any amount that you give helps us turn out more voters.
Thanks for stepping up,
Connecticut Democrats
