John,
The Senate passed a historic budget resolution today that would, among other things, allocate funds to expand Medicare’s coverage to include dental, hearing and vision. The budget resolution was just the beginning. We need to keep fighting until the bill is on Joe Biden’s desk.
Thanks to your pressure, we’re going to expand Medicare this year. Chip in $5 to keep up the pressure!
Now that the budget resolution has passed, the Senate is in the midst of its “vote-a-rama,” where they take a rapid series of votes to amend the resolution. As I’m writing this, we’re tracking 726 different amendments, most of which are non-binding messaging amendments. But we need to remain vigilant, because Mitt Romney could bring back his Social Security-cutting TRUST Act in the middle of the night, just like he did during the last vote-a-rama.
Social Security Works is pre-emptively reaching out to Senate offices to make sure that they don’t fall for Mitt’s trap. Donate today to protect Social Security from Mitt Romney, and to expand Medicare this year!
Thanks,
Michael Phelan Social Security Works
