John,
The Senate just voted 50-49 to advance a budget resolution that can make the kinds of investments our families and communities desperately need. But first, the Senate is engaging in what’s known as a “vote-a-rama” where senators can offer unlimited amendments.
We’re defending against bad amendments that could undermine the size and scope of the investments we’re able to make. For example, senators are trying to prevent immigrants from attaining legal status, to ramp up deportations, and to stop the poorest families from receiving the Child Tax Credit.
Or, senators could slash health care investments, so that poor people continue to be denied Medicaid in some states and so that Medicare won’t cover hearing, dental or vision.
Can you rush a donation today to fight back against efforts to undermine the size and scope of the budget?

Here's what we're defending:
-
A multi-year continuation of the Child Tax Credit;
-
A pathway to citizenship for qualified immigrants including Dreamers;
-
Paid family and medical leave;
-
A significant reduction in health care costs and expanded coverage for the uninsured;
-
More home care for the aging and people with disabilities, and better pay for home care workers;
-
Tuition-free community college;
-
Universal free pre-K for 3-4 year-olds and expanded child care assistance;
-
Vital nutrition and housing investments;
-
Increasing the now below-poverty level benefits for poor people with disabilities;
-
Clean energy initiatives;
-
And much more!
We’re demanding that these investments be paid for by rolling back the Trump-GOP tax cuts for the rich and corporations, that we tax wealth like work so the richest 1% pay their fair share in taxes, and that we invest in IRS enforcement to crack down on wealthy and corporate tax cheats.
Rush a contribution to defend against bad-faith amendments that could cut the size and scope of the investments we desperately need.
