John: This is an emergency.
The UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has declared our global climate situation a “code red for humanity.” Right here at home in California and across the globe we’re dealing with wildfires, droughts, sea levels rising, extreme heat and increased storm intensity.
This cannot be emphasized enough: We are in a crisis.
With this report, the scientists at IPCC have recommended that global emissions be cut in half by 2030 and reach net zero by 2050 in order to save our planet.
We must act now and the United States needs to be a leader on global climate change. Will you stand with us and tell Congress that we need swift, bipartisan climate action now? [[link removed]]

There is so much at stake in this fight — and we can’t allow partisan politics to be the reason we can’t protect our planet. At our current pace, the arctic is likely to be ice-free before 2050, we will continue to see historic extreme weather, and sea levels will continue to rise dramatically.
If we’re going to halt or reverse some of the impact of climate change we have to act now. Are you with us? [[link removed]]
